Pru turns 3 in Second Life

It's that time of year again, when I celebrate the anniversary of my avatar's "birth" in the virtual environment called Second Life.

Last year I was surprised that I made it to my 2nd RezDay; my Second Life adventures had been challenging on a social level.  For my 2nd RezDay celebration I had decided to play music on my parcel and invite others to listen.  One of my listeners happened to be my "Land Lady" and SL Celebrity, Gabriel Riel, who from that day on encouraged me to get "back in the saddle" and return to presenting music on the radio.

Now, you know I love music, and I love playing music for my friends, but I have no desire to be a celebrity in any world.  My initial response to the proposal was "no thank you".  But, in the past year, with Gabriel's tutelage and encouragement, and the support of many friends in and out of Second Life, I've become more comfortable with presenting music to a larger audience.

On this 3rd year of my Second Life, I am celebrating the fact that I'm still here, despite my challenges with social anxiety, illness, puppy-sitting, and despite my fear of the spotlight.  I am celebrating my many new friends and supporters who accept me and allow me to be myself.

On Saturday, August 19th, 2017, from 1:00 PM-3:00 PM Pacific and Second Life Time, I will open The Conservatory in St. John Woods for a party.  Three Guest Presenters (DJs) will surprise us with 30 minutes each of their musical selections, and I may add a few tunes myself.

There is no musical theme, no theme for attire; let's just enjoy the music and the company.

As this date always seems to coincide with the Hurricane season in the St. John estates, there may be heavy rain and flooding in the area.  Rest assured that The Conservatory is on the highest ground in the sim, and is protected by the magic of Love.

RezDay #4

Once again it is time to celebrate the day Prudence was "born" in Second Life.  I admit, I am not feeling very celebratory this year.  The past year of my First Life has been so challenging, to say the least, that throwing a virtual party in SL feels more like a chore than a celebration. I no longer "live" in a region where an annual hurricane coincided with my RezDay.  While that was never a problem for me, it did limit my options for parties.  This year I have my own venue, The Lair, in Rosehaven, as well as a nice parcel next door.  I've considered hosting a party at The Lair, but I am leaning more toward a summer aquatic theme and have begun decorating my home parcel for a "swim" party. On Sunday, August 19, beginning at noon SLT, my friends are welcome to drop by to play in the water with me.    Mer and other aquatic avatars are encouraged, but not required. Swimwear should be appropriate for a moderate region.   I may pre...
